Rheinmetall ARGUS soldier system for enhanced combat power
Well-trained, well-equipped, highly flexible, highly mobile infantry forces that are capable of operating in joint and combined scenarios and putting “boots on the ground” where they are needed most are a key element on today’s battlefields!
Rheinmetall’s ARGUS Soldier System provides soldiers with an enhanced situational awareness and enables them to perform functions such as navigation, detect, locate, identify and engage targets, and several other command and control functions. The ARGUS Soldier System comprises of a hand-held Tactical User Interface with Battle Management Software (BMS), tactical soldier radio, connection hub, control unit, head set, active noise reduction earphones, and high capacity batteries.
The ARGUS tactical radio provides simultaneous communication for voice and data between soldiers and their commander on multiple nets. The BMS performs all required battle management functions through easily navigable and intuitive menus. The connection hub provides a high level of connectivity between multiple battery packs and provides data and power interface ports for connecting the system components and external devices. The bone conduction microphone of the head set provides outstanding capability to communicate efficiently, even in the noisiest environments. High capacity batteries fit in standard pouches and can provide autonomy for more than 36 hours of operation.
Argus is on display at Rheinmetall’s booth at CANSEC 2015 in Ottawa.
